Overview
Campaign field sites typically house instruments that are deployed during a field campaign for an impermanent length of time. The field sites and their accompanying instruments are operated and maintained by a variety of organizations, and the field sites are oftentimes given a name, as well as a specific latitude/longitude designation. Once a campaign ends, the instruments located within the field site are usually returned to their home base until they are needed again.
